Deputies are still searching the woods near the 4500 block of Highway 527 in Bossier Parish in pursuit of Thomas Dooley, of Monroe.
Dooley is wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Haughton.
"The clerk of the store that was robbed originally misdentified the suspect. The clerk knew both Moore and Dooly," Ed Baswell with the Bossier Sheriff's Office said. "However, once deputies investigated further, the store employee was able to indentfy Dooly as the suspect, which was later confirmed by other evidence."
The suspect took off from the scene in a black single cab pickup, allegedly firing at officers along the way and leading authorities on a chase into Webster Parish then back into Bossier Parish.
Dooley ditched his truck and fled on foot after police from Webster an Bossier Parish began pursuing him.
There are bullet holes in Dooley’s truck windshield and the back window is shot out.
Dooley is a white male, 5'10 tall, approximately 170lbs.
He is considered very dangerous and police are treating him as if he is armed.
His charges include attempted first degree murder of a police officer.
Dooley was identified by the business owner he robbed.
Bossier Parish sheriff's deputy Robert Teague was injured around 10:30 a.m. this morning when he wrecked his motorcycle while chasing Dooley, who is still armed.
