Glenbrook beats Riverfield, Lakeside falls to Mangham

A wrap-up of the weekend's high school baseball action.

Minden 3, North Webster 2

The Minden Crimson Tide hosted the North Webster Knights Saturday afternoon in an intra-parish match-up.

The Tide scored three runs in the bottom of the third to take an early lead. North Webster struck for two runs in the top of the fourth, but that would be all the scoring in a 3-2 Tide win.
Tide starter McCaul Lacobee evened his record to 3-3 as he took the win for the Crimson Tide. Lacobee went all seven innings, giving up just one hit and striking out five.

Cole Gray (3-2) pitched well but took the loss for the Knights. He went six innings, giving up five hits with two strikeouts.

Carson Bolyer doubled to lead the Tide offense. Hutton Leppert had a RBI-single and Corey DeMoss had a single and a stolen base. Thomas Pevy and Marshall Frye both added base hits.

Taylor Murphy had a RBI-single for the Knights' lone hit.

Minden is now 13-6 on the year, North Webster falls to 17-5.

The Crimson Tide will play at Ruston High today.

Glenbrook 8, Riverfield 3

The Glenbrook Apaches improved to 5-1 in district, and 12-4 overall with an 8-3 win over Riverfield on Friday.

"I felt like we played real well in six of the seven innings," Apache coach Jonathan Hardy said. "We made a couple of errors in one inning and they scored three runs. We have to clean that up, but other than that we play a pretty complete game."

Glenbrook starter Bailey Petit turned in a complete game on the mound. Petit scattered five hits over seven innings walking none while striking out 10.

"Bailey pitched really well," Hardy said. "Anytime you can go out there and walk nobody and strike out 10 in seven innings, you've done a good job."

Jacob White led the Apaches at the plate with a single and two RBIs. Connor Copeland, Petit, Spencer White and Connor Clark all had RBI-singles, and Logan Clark, Caleb Wilson and Cameron Matthews all added base hits.

The Apaches will play at Claiborne Academy on Tuesday, junior varsity starts at 4 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.

Mangham 7, Lakeside 6

SIBLEY — The Lakeside Warriors took on the Mangham Dragons in a non-district game on Saturday, losing 7-6.

Chad Harwell was awarded the win for the Dragons, and Luke Griffith took the loss for Lakeside.

Griffith led Lakeside as he went four-for-four with a home run and two RBIs. Jake Gray went two-for-four with two RBIs. Austin Ashley and Cameron Corley both added base hits.

Lakeside is now 5-13 on the year, and will play at Jonesboro Tuesday at 6 p.m.
