Grover Cleveland "Jack" Carroll, Jr., 88, of Minden passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at Willis Knighton Medical Center in Bossier City.
He was born Oct. 8, 1924 to Grover Cleveland Carroll, Sr. and Allien Sullivan Carroll in Camden, Arkansas. He was the past owner of the Carroll Construction business and of Hilltop Storage. Jack was known for his high quality and hard work ethics in the construction business. He contracted on numerous construction projects and homes throughout Lousiana, Texas, Arkansas as well as advancing the growth of at least four subdivisions in Minden and Sibley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland, Sr. and Allien Sullivan Carroll; brothers, L. J. Carroll, Grady Carroll; and triplet brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Carroll of Minden; sons, Eddie L. Carroll and wife, Becky of Minden and Billy L. Carroll and wife, Pat of Sibley; daughters, Susan L. Carroll Neal and husband, Charles of Ashdown, Arkansas, Kay Thomas and husband, Jim of Frisco, Texas and Ann Sykes and husband, Otis of Keller, Texas; brother, Henry Carroll of Camden, Arkansas; sisters, Evelyn Bright of Lewisville, Arkansas and Virginia Toney of Canyon Lake, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and plenty of friends.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at Bethesda Cemetery in Camden, Arkansas. Reverend Crider will officiate the service.
