Police seeking clues to burglars of ATM, store safe
Minden Police are seeking anyone with information about a burglary at Family Dollar on Homer Road.
Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said when employees arrived at the store Tuesday morning, they discovered the back door had been accessed during the night.
"Whoever broke in drilled the ATM (Automated Teller Machine) and drilled the safe that was in the store," Cropper said. "They didn't mess with anything else." Cropper said an undisclosed amount of money was taken from each.
"We believe they accessed the store through the back door," he said. "But there was no sign of forced entry."
Cropper said the intruders cut the electrical power and phone line to the building.
"When the register regained power, they (employees) printed out a receipt that showed 12:31 a.m.," he said.
"So we feel the break-in was some time prior to midnight."
Anyone with information should call Minden Police at 371-4226.
