Lander sets new school 1600 record, Lady Warriors take third

BOSSIER — The Lakeside track teams both placed in the top five at the Bossier Bearcat Relays this past weekend.

The Lady Warriors turned in their best performance of the year as they finished with 63 points for a third place finish in the 11 teem meet.

The Lakeside Warrior guys finished fifth, scoring 54 points. They scored 24 in the field and 30 on the track.

Lady Warriors Alissa Lander set a new school record in the 1600 as she took second place. Lander had a time of 5:43.21.

Katelyn Coltier took second in the 3200 with a time of 13:27.01 and Brooke Walker finished fifth with a personal best of 14:05.77.

Heather Schenck took fourth in the 800 at 2:43.49. Deedee Quarles placed fifth in the 100 Hurdles at 18.83. The 1600 Relay made up of vickers, Schenck, Lander, and Esparza finished sixth at 5:00.

Senior Jasmine Turner picked up a victory in the discus at 101'5" and a third place finish in the shot with a season best of 32'5". For this she was recognized as Most Valuable ladies field performer.

Once again Shanae Collins was a double winner for the ladies. Collins won the long jump with a leap of 16'8 1/4" and won the 100 meters at 13.01. She also placed fifth in the 200 at 28.48 for a total of 22 points.

Darryl Moore had another strong day for the Warriors with a season best long jump of 21'9" for second place and a personal best time of 51.80 for third in the 400.

Maurice Moore equaled his personal best in the high jump at 6'0" for third place. Moore also jumped 20'1" for fifth in the long jump.

Tremindious Miller took third in the shot put with a toss of 44"11 1/2". Freshman Trey Owens took fifth in the javelin with a personal best of 117'4".

On the track Enrique Soto took the 3200 with a season best 9:45.48. Soto also placed second in the 800 at 2:04.14. James Taylor was third in the 3200 with a personal best of 10:16.76.

Tuesday, March 19, the Lakeside Warrior Jr. High Relays will begin at 3:30 p.m.

The meet will have 7th grade boys, 8th grade boys, and a 7th-8th grade girls division. Eight teams are slated to participate.

On Friday, March 22, 10 teams will compete for the Richland Bank Lakeside Warrior Memorial Relays Title.

Field events will begin at 3:30 p.m. with running events starting at 5:15 p.m.

Teams participating will be Homer, Haynesville, North Webster, Doyline, Northwood, Cedar Creek, Ouachita Christian, Calvary, and Lakeside. There will be a varsity boys and girls division.
