Martha Jean Owens

Owens obitA sweet baby girl was born Sept. 7, 1961 to Mr. Sutton Perry and Mrs. Naomi Owens; they named her Martha.

Martha Jean, as she was called by her family and friends was raised in a Christian home. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Starlight Baptist Church in Ringgold.
She attended school in Webster Parish.

She was a loving mother and companion. She not only raised her children, she helped raised a lot of other children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sutton Perry and Naomi Owens; sister, Suzanne Owens; stepchildren, Billy Ray Theus and Lisa Black; two nephews and three nieces.

She leaves to cherish her sweet and loving memories her loving, loyal, and faithful companion, Mr. Elmore Madden, Sr; two sons, Morrio Owens and Charles Owens; daughter, TeQuisha Adams [Laverrian] all of Ringgold; stepsons, Elmore Madden, Jr. of Lawrence, Kansas and James Theus [Wilene] of Shreveport, and stepdaughter, Lisa Madden of Shreveport;
Four sisters, Lillie M. Norton of Shreveport, Mary Ann Simpson of Sibley, Bertha Perry and Louis Sullivan, both of California; four brothers, Martin Owens of Shreveport, John L. Perry, Jimmy Perry and Jerry Perry all of California; six grandchildren, Victor Madden, Valicia Madden, Morriyionia Owens, LaVerrian Adams, Jr., Teverrian and LaTonya Mozeke; special godchildren, Shaundrieka King, Gabby Stafford, Damion Moore, Star Moore, Calb Mays and LaToni Gardner; mother-in-law, Mrs. Dollie Moore; special friends, Kaien Savage, Linda Phipps, Tammy Huey and Juanita Madden; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Starlight Baptist Church in Ringgold.

Burial will follow at Shehee Cemetary, under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home.

Visitation is being held today (Friday, March 29, 2013) from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. with a wake from 6 until 7 p.m.
