Lawmakers refuse to  expand public records access

Lawmakers on the House ethics committee backed Gov. Bobby Jindal's effort to keep most of his records shielded from public view.

The House and Governmental Affairs Committee voted 6-3 against a measure that would have opened more of the governor's office to scrutiny. Jindal opposed the bill.
