Funeral services for Mrs. Trudie H. Stroud, 98, will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. G.R. Collier and Rev. Daphne Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Forest Park East Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.

Visitation will be held today (Friday) from 5 until 8 p.m.

Mrs. Stroud was born April 29, 1913 in Fisher to William Thomas and Nancy Exa Randolph Horton and went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 15, 2011 in Springhill.

She was a resident of Springhill and a former resident of Many. Mrs. Stroud was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Springhill, loved to quilt, sew and cook for her family. She also enjoyed raising a flower garden.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Roberts of Springhill; her son, William Stroud and wife, Patricia of Sarepta; five sisters, Nancy Carroll, Lona Ford, Maggie DuHamel, Billie Hammond and Bobbie Pitt; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stroud was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard H. Stroud; three children, Howard Henry Stroud, Jr., Joan St. Clergy and Frances Bethel; two sisters, Linda Stroud and Annie Howell; and son-in-law, John Roberts.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
