Memorial service for Lawana June Broughton Weaver will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Minden with Linda Shepherd officiating. Friends and family will gather at 11 a.m. in the Wesley Room for a time of visitation.
Lawana passed away from this earthly life and was united with her heavenly Father on Dec. 27, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was 73. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmon and Edna Broughton, of Homer; three daughters, Kaye, Carla and Kim Weaver; and one brother, Barry Broughton. She is survived by one son, David Weaver of Bossier City; three brothers, Ernest Broughton of Bremen, Georgia, Ronnie Broughton and wife, Glenda, of Minden and Randy Broughton and wife Sherry, of Homer; four grandchildren, Dody Foster Underwood, Witt Foster, Chad Cook and Courtney Cook; two great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Lawana retired from a management position at Walmart, serving stores in Shreveport, Bossier and Minden.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's association or the donor's favorite charity.
