"The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" Hebrews 4:12. Do you believe the word of God is that powerful? Is it powerful enough to radically affect your life, or only the lives of others?
The Bible begins with a clear demonstration of the power of God's word. "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light" Genesis 1:3. As one continues the Genesis account, there is the repeated "God said". . . "and it was so." "By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. . . For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast" Psalm 33:6, 9. Once again one is faced with a question. Is God's word so powerful that it can call into existence what wasn't, but yet too weak to change you and me?
