Lauren Elizabeth Aldridge of Benton and Michael Ashford Nelson of Shreveport were united in marriage Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 6 o'clock in the evening Baptist Memorial Chapel in Shreveport.
The ceremony was officiated by Bro. John Fream. Music for the ceremony was provided by Robert Young, organist and soloist Stacy Rains, stepsister of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Brent Aldridge and Mrs. Allison Rains. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Corrine Aldridge, of Minden, and the late J.D. Aldridge, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dewell Gandy of Athens.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Ashford (Bud) Nelson, Jr. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Nelson, Sr., of Haughton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. O.K. Dozier of New Iberia.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride chose an elegant gown of candlelight satin and alencon lace by Symphony Bridal.
The empire bodice, with sweetheart neckline and a wide one shoulder strap, was accented at the midriff with a satin banding embellished with rhinestones and crystals. The princess styling of the alencon lace featured a draping carriage lift at the front with rhinestone enhancement. The softly flowing semi-cathedral length train cascaded beneath a corset back bodice. A single tier of silk illusion with satin cording served as the bridal headpiece.
Sara Beth Russell, childhood friend, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Ashlea Nelson, sister of the groom, Becca Price, Kimberly Steimetz, Amy Smith, Hannah McDonald, and Megan Wilder. Kinleigh Crank, cousin of the bride, served as Junior Bridesmaid. Lanie Davis, cousin of the groom, served as flower girl.
Jeffery Arnold, friend of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Tyler Aldridge, brother of the bride, Justin Musgrove, Parker Lavigne, Neal Blackman, Reese Hawley, and Brandon Clemons. Parker Brown, Austin Fellows, and Gerald Sayres served as ushers. Nolan Still, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Lauren is a 2008 graduate of Airline High School. In 2012, she received her bachelor of science degree in middle school education from Louisiana Tech University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Lauren is currently employed at Learning Rx.
Michael is a 2006 graduate of C.E. Byrd High School. He is a 2010 graduate of Louisiana Tech University where he received a degree in civil engineering and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Michael is currently employed with the Louisiana Department of Transportation.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at Palmetto Country Club, under the direction of Natalie Thomas. Music was provided by Earshot Graffiti of Shreveport. The couple's first dance was sung by Stacy Rains. Cakes were provided by Sweetie Cakes.
Following a honeymoon to Avon, Colorado, the couple will make their home in Shreveport.
