Running an insurance checkpoint in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, netted Webster Parish deputies a man on drug charges.Douglas Paul Phillips, 28, was arrested by deputies and charged with possession of CDS Sch. I (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Gary Sexton said that when Phillips made a U-turn to avoid the Allen Drive checkpoint, LDWF agent Kenny Balkom stopped the vehicle and contacted deputies Bobby Igo, III and Joel Thomas for assistance.
