Letitia Bonner Lewis, 35, of the 300 block of Syrup Mill Road has been arrested by Minden Police and charged with "terrorizing."
Chief Steve Cropper said a person with the school's administration office contacted Officer Tina Douglas Monday, saying they had received a call from Lewis, whose child was involved in an altercation at a basketball game.
"The student was asked to write out a statement for the school on what exactly took place during the altercation," Cropper said.
Lewis reportedly telephoned the administration office, upset over the manner in which the school was handling the situation, including her child's possible suspension.
"During the phone conversation, Lewis asked the question, 'Do you know what Karma is?'," Cropper said. "Then Lewis made the statement, 'What goes around comes around.'"
According to reports, Lewis continued to argue with administration about the suspension for several more minutes.
"Then she made the statement, 'I guess you haven't seen what's been going on in the news ... Connecticut and all,'" Cropper said. "Then she continued to argue a little more and hung up the phone.
"After we received this information – in this day and time – we took this conversation very seriously," the chief continued. "We processed an arrest warrant on the charge of terrorizing."
Once the warrant was issued, Minden Police began tracking Lewis' location.
"We learned that she works in Shreveport, so we forwarded the arrest warrant to Caddo Parish authorities," Cropper said. "At approximately 4:30 p.m. December 18, Lewis was in custody in Caddo Parish."
Officers traveled to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, picked up Lewis, took her to the Minden Police Department and then transported her to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center, where she is being held under a $15,000 bond.
