Warriors to host Tigers

SIBLEY — The Lakeside (Road) Warriors will finally be back on their home field tonight, as they host the Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers.

Lakeside head coach Joey Pesses is happy to avoid the road trip this week.

"We're all excited about playing at home again," Pesses said. "I actually had to wash and dry the home jersies because they had dust all over them."

Lakeside comes into the seventh game of the season with a 3-3 record. Last week the Warriors dropped their opening game of 2-2A district play, 46-6, to Sterlington.

Tonight the Warriors will look to even that district record.

Jonesboro-Hodge started the season with three straight losses, but now has won two out of their last three games.

Last week, the Tigers opened up the District 2-2A schedule with a 22-16 win over Ferriday.

Lakeside will play without starting quarterback Clayton Festavan, who was hurt in last week's game, so look for the Warriors to lean heavily on running back Chris Lewis and the running game.

Game time is 7 p.m.
