Getting Ready for the Bash

10-05_depingre_mugMy comments for this month’s column will be brief as I want to issue a personal invitation to all of our Minden Press-Herald readers to attend the 70-year celebration of the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce.  Special thanks to Town & Country Rehab/Weston Place for their title sponsorship of this event.  I would also like to thank our Gold Sponsors:  Jamieson, Wise & Martin; Bud’s Liquor; Party Express Catering; Gibsland Bank & Trust; Webster Printing; Minden Medical Center and Aeropres.  Silver Sponsors include: Wilson’s Starter & Alternator; Richland State Bank and KaJohn Oil.

Monday, October 8th we will hold a Ribbon Cutting for Evergreen Life Services (formally Evergreen Ministries) 1412 Sibley Road at 11:30.  Please join us as we recognize the important work done by Evergreen and its employees.

Our October After Hours will be held at Gibsland Bank on the 16th starting at 6:00.  GBT always hosts a wonderful event with good food and great networking opportunities.  Remember, After Hours events are NOT just for Chamber members.  We would love to see members of the community there.

I am very excited to present to you an opportunity that the Chamber is making available to our community.  In partnership with ABC Destinations, the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce presents a Tuscan Escape.
That’s right.  We are offering nine days, round trip airfare out of Shreveport, breakfast and dinner daily, and seven days in Italy.  This is a tremendous trip that will take place March 13-21, 2013.  Most of us would never take a trip like this on our own.  Now we have an opportunity to tour the Tuscan countryside with everything arranged for us.  No planning is necessary (except figuring out how to pack only one bag!).  Just get on the plane and enjoy the trip of a lifetime.  Space is limited, so call the Chamber for details.  You don’t want to miss out on this.
Christmas is right around the corner.  Please remember to ALWAYS shop in our local businesses first…

Jerri de Pingre’ is president of the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce.
