RUSTON —The Lakeside Warriors began their 2011 cross country season with a bang at the Choudrant Invitational held in Ruston.
The Lady Warriors were led by junior Anna Davidson who sped to a time of 20:23 to place second over the hill three-mile course. Heather Schenck ran a personal best of 22:32.7 to place ninth in the 50 girl field.
Zach Levesque paced the Warrior guys with a personal best of 16:30 to place fourth in the field of 73. The senior ran an average of 5:30 for each mile. James Taylor ran a 17:44 to place 13th in the race. Nic Petty finished 44th coming in at 21:56.
The Junior High Division which consisted of a two-mile run also produced favorable results for the Warriors. Alissa Landers ran 15:57 to finish 15th out of 55 runners. The Lakeside boys finished second behind Ruston Jr. High in a four-team meet.
Eric Greene was the junior high champion as he ran a 12:30 which was 18 seconds better the the second place runner. Austin Pike finished 7th at 14:00. Steven France was 11th at 14:45. Cody Robinson took 24th at 15:39. Alex Robles was 26th at 15:43. J.R. Mueller was 28th at 16:39. Joseph Johnson finished 30th at 16:56. Thirty-seven runners participated in this division.
Next action for Coach Dan Grantham and the Warrior cross country teams will be the Calvary Invitational on Sat., Sept. 17
