A late night crash in Webster Parish Monday has claimed the life of a 37-year-old Minden man.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop G investigators, Joseph C. Marsh died when he was ejected after his vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
Troop G responded to the crash at 11:30 p.m. which occurred on McIntyre Road, just south of Fuller Road.
Troopers' preliminary investigation revealed that Marsh was traveling north on McIntyre Road, while operating a 2000 GMC pickup truck, when he entered a curve to the right. Prior to exiting the curve, for unknown reasons, the pickup traveled off the left side of the roadway.
Marsh apparently attempted to steer the vehicle back into its lane of travel, but overcorrected to the right. He lost control of the vehicle as it overturned and came to rest off the roadway.
Marsh, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner.
Speed is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Toxicology results are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
