Louisiana gobblers succumb to Swan Songs

Listen closely and you can hear the crescendo starting to build as the rather portly lady begins singing....."Turn out the lights; the party's over". Our spring turkey season here in Louisiana will be history after April 20.

The season here has been good for some folks; not so hot for other hunters. Perhaps the refusal of winter to release its icy grip on northern Louisiana, even as the dogwoods and azaleas defiantly point at the calendar indicating that it's not supposed to be this cold in mid-April that has led to the reluctance of gobblers to gobble.
