History in the Making

We are witnessing history on two fronts.

One concerns foreign affairs. The other involves the economy, specifically Louisiana's.

While Russia makes a play to reestablish its dominance in Eastern Europe thanks to the failed leadership of a weak American president, here at home the state's economy is in the early stages of a boom. You see signs of it in the unemployment rate, which in January dropped to 4.9 percent. The unemployment rate nationally is 6.7 percent.
