Minden’s ironman Athlete

Minden's Susan Hunter recently completed the New Orleans Ironman 70.3. Hunter used this half-Ironman to prep for the upcoming Ironman Chattanooga (Tenn.) in September.

An Ironman competition consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a marathon 26.2-mile run, raced in that order and without a break.

Hunter has completed 11 of her previous 12 Ironman races. Her only non-finish was due to an injury suffered in a crash during the bicycle portion of the race, in which organizers would not let her finish the race, as she wanted.
