Funding comes through for  Visitors Center

Plans for the construction of Germantown Colony Museum Visitors Center have been laid and payment secured, with construction set to begin in early June.

"The last time we took bids, it came in above the amount available to us," said Lynn Dorsey, Executive Director of Webster Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The state suggested to use interest on earnings to fill in the gap. So we did as they suggested and the legislature allocated money from interest on earnings, and because of that and the support we have received from so many, the Visitors Center will be built."
