Minden High drops pair to Airline

BOSSIER —The Minden Crimson Tide and Lady Tiders dropped non-district games to Airline High School Monday night.

The lack of scoring that has plagued both teams all season struck again, as both teams were held below 40 points.

The Crimson Tide fell to the Vikings, 72-39 and the Lady Vikings beat the Lady Tiders, 57-25.

The Lady Tiders fell behind 16-2 in the first quarter and trailed 34-9 at halftime. The Lady Tiders played better in the second half but were out-scored 16-7 in the third quarter before out-scoring Airline, 9-7, in the fourth.

Metosha Gill and Miranda Fisher both scored 10 points to lead the Lady Tiders.

The Crimson Tide were out-scored 23-5 by the Vikings in the first quarter and then 19-8 in the second to trail 42-13 at the half. The second half played much more even, as Airline only out-scored Minden 14-13 in the third and 16-13 in the fourth.

Reggie Seamster led the Crimson Tide with nine points and Dominique Walker and Elgin Moore each added six. Tray Hawkins scored four points and Tra Thornton added three. D.J. Wallace scored four points.

The Tide fell to 5-8 with the loss and the Lady Tiders are now 4-9.

Both teams will take a break through the Christmas Holidays and will play next on December 30 at Homer High School.
