Fleming decides against Senate

Putting to rest rumors of a possible run against U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu in 2014, Congressman John Fleming released a statement Thursday, saying he believes he may not be the man for the job.

"For me to enter the race now would risk a contest between two experienced Republican Congressmen, potentially offering Sen. Landrieu a path back to Washington," Fleming said, speaking of Bill Cassidy. "I can't let that happen."
