SHREVEPORT — The Minden High Crimson Tide shut out their district opponents from Northwood, 4-0 Tuesday in Shreveport.
Minden starter Carson Bolyer pitched an outstanding game. He pitched a complete seven innings, scattering five hits while striking out eight.
The Crimson Tide scored two runs in the top of the third and two more in the top of the fourth.
In the third, Marshal Frye led off the inning by drawing a four-pitch walk. After an out, Frye moves to second on a single by Thomas Pevy. Turner Francis followed with another single to load the bases.
Frye would be forced out at home on Hutton Leppert's fielder's choice, but Pevy and Francis would score on Austin Sumner's two-out single.
In the fourth, McCaul Lacobee would drive in a run and Pevy would hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Caleb Jones for the Tide's fourth run.
Sumner led the Tide with two singles and a pair of runs batted in. Pevy singled and drove in a run with a sac fly, and Francis added a single. Lacobee also drove in a run.
The Tide will finish out the week with a pair of double headers.
Thursday, the Crimson Tide will host Fair Park in a double header that begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, Woodlawn will come to Griffith Stadium for a double header, with the first pitch coming at 1 p.m.
