Jessica Craig of Minden and Chad Alexander of Simsboro, Louisiana, were married on April 30, 2011, in the bride's parents front yard. Brother Dee Anders, uncle of the bride, officiated the evening ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Keith and Denise Craig of Minden. She is the granddaughter of Jerry and Jackie Roberts and Wayne and Nancy Craig, all from Minden.
The groom is the son of Dianne Alexander Short and the late Jerry Alexander of Simsboro, Louisiana. He is the grandson of W.C. "Nub" Alexander and Sue Belle Alexander of Simsboro, as well as C.H. "Coot" and Opal Liles.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a beautiful strapless gown that consisted of a white satin A-line with a chiffon split. It was overlayed with metallic embroidery. The gown was heavily beaded and had a flowing train. The bride carried a bouquet made by the groom's sister. It consisted of a variety of pink stargazer lilies, pink roses and green daisies. The bouquet featured a handkerchief that belonged to the bride's great-great grandmother. A friend of the family gave the bride a six pence (that had been passed down through several generations) to wear in her shoe.
Katie Dunn, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Hannah Rowland, Stephanie Davis, Holley Chapman, Taryn Nation and Angie Franks. The bridesmaids wore pink dresses in a style of their choice. They carried long stem pink roses, that matched the roses in the bride's bouquet.
Casey Liles, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Serving as ushers were Steven Davis, cousin of the bride, Matthew Craig, brother of the bride and Reid Bowen, nephew of the groom. Mary-Evelyn and Allie King were flower girls.
Music for the wedding was provided by Suzanne Ratcliff and Sidney Cox, with Faye Gordon on keyboard.
The reception was held at The Grove Gold Course. It was catered by Hugh Wood with music provided by Monty Russel. Cakes were made by Joan Almond. All tables were adorned with flowers that matched the bride's bouquet. The candy bar was a big hit with everyone.
Dana Craig served the bride's cake and Mallory Wiggins served the groom's cake. Donna Wiggins served as the wedding planner. Lindsey Blackwelder was the photographer. Olivia Blackwelder provided her service as a bubble girl.
After their wedding the newly-weds took a trip to Nashville, Tennesee, where they were able to go backstage and meet many singers.
The couple will reside in Simsboro, Louisiana.
