Informant leads agents to drug dealer

VANDEE SANDERSA confidential informant led North Webster Drug Task Force agents to a woman allegedly hiding a wanted fugitive in Springhill.

Vandee Mearie Sanders, 25, of the 900 block of 1st Street SE, was arrested for possession of CDS Sch. II crack cocaine and possession of CDS Sch. I marijuana.

The informant reportedly told agents that Sanders was hiding Eddie Mack George at her residence.

"Eddie is wanted by the task force on several distribution of cocaine warrants," said Lt. Shawn Baker, Webster Parish Sheriff's Office/North Webster Drug Task Force. "We also received reliable information that Sanders had just sold a quanitity of crack cocaine to an individual that had just left her residence on foot."

When agents arrived at Sanders' residence, they reportedly saw Sanders standing in the front yard.

"We asked where Eddie George was, and she stated that we could search her residence – that she hasn't seen him in a few days," Baker said. "Sanders signed a waiver of search and marijuana and crack cocaine were discovered inside her bedroom."

According to reports, Sanders later told agents that Eddie Mack George was at a Springhill motel, however, when agents arrived, the male subject was no longer there.

Sanders was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
