One arrested for domestic abuse battery
A Minden man, allegedly bearing a grudge, was arrested by Minden Police after carrying out a hit-and-run of sorts on a female acquaintance.
John Edward Bailey, 40, of the 300 block of B.F. Martin Drive is charged with home invasion and domestic abuse battery, which carry bonds totalling $110,000.
Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said the original incident took place September 28, when Bailey showed up at a location where he knew the female was inside the residence.
"Bailey knocked on the door and when an individual opened it, Bailey forced entry, knocking that person out of the way," Cropper said. "He located the female inside and began beating her with a closed fist. He then fled the scene before officers arrived."
The chief said there was allegedly a relationship between Bailey and the female.
On October 5, Cropper said Det. Sgt. Chris Cheatham and officers first Class Kenneth James, Ben Allen and Chris Hammontree served the outstanding warrants on Bailey without incident.
