Two separate arrest were made Tuesday by the Minden Police Department.
Willie I. Miller, 24 of Cherry Street, was located in the parking lot of a local convenience store on Sibley Road by investigating officers, Capt. Marvin Garrett, Lt. Danny Weaver, and Lt. Richard Cooper at approximately. 9:30 a.m..
“Officers held outstanding arrest warrants on this suspect,” Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper said. “Miller was arrested on four outstanding arrests warrants, three warrants on the charge of distribution of marijuana (Sch. I), and one warrant on the charge of distribution of Cocaine (Sch. II). The outstanding arrest warrants stem from an undercover narcotics operation.”
Miller has been transferred to BDCC and is being held on a $30,000 bond on each warrant, totaling $120,000.
In an unrelated incident, Derrick Wilson, 38 of Winwood Drive in Sibley, was arrested by Detective Sergeant Chris Cheatham and Detective Sergeant Keith King Jr. at 10:15 a.m. on the charge of aggravated battery.
“The warrant stemmed from an incident that took place on August 30,” Cropper said. “Wilson and the victim had gotten into a verbal argument, at the victim's residence. The victim thought Wilson was leaving her residence, turned her back to Wilson, then Wilson struck the victim in the head with a glass bottle.”
The victim reportedly sustained no serious injuries from the strike.
“The victim fought off Wilson, fled her residence, notified the Minden Police Dept,” Cropper said. “By the time officers arrived Wilson had left the scene.”
Derrick Wilson, who has been transferred to BDCC, is being held on a $15,000 bond.
