The Lakeside Cross-Country teams participated in one of the largest CC meets in Northeast Texas at the Tyler Lee Classic.
The girls JV Division featured high school runners from classes 1-A, 2-A, and 3-A in Texas. Sixteen teams and 142 ladies competed over a hilly two-mile course. Seventh graders Nancy Silva and Brooke Walker finished 73rd and 97th respectively. Silva ran a time of 15:47 while Walker clocked a 16:43.
The girl's Varsity division ran a 5K (5,000 meters) and featured runners from class 5A-4A in Texas. The Lady Warriors were once again lead by Alissa Lander who finished 7th out of 93 runners while running a time of 21:52. Heather Scheneck finished 28th at 23:34. Anna Davidson finished 47th at 24:40.
Cody Robinson lead the Warrior guys in the JV division running a 19:47 over the 5K course and finishing 31st out of 206 runners. Other finishers for the JV were Ale Robles at 62nd (20:45); Joseph Johnson at 102 (21:48); J.R. Mueller at 105 (21:49); and Dylan Welch at 155th (23:15). The JV team finished 11th out of 18 teams.
The high school varsity division saw the Warriors take 6th out of 16 teams. Senior James Taylor finished 3rd out of 126 runners in the 1-A, 2-A, and 3-A Race. His time of 17:09 was just ahead of 4th place finisher Eric Greene at 17:17. Travis Walker finished 63rd at 20:12 and Dakota Conway was 69th at 20:37.
Enrique Soto ran in the 5A-4A Division finishing 2nd out of 122 runners. Soto battled Troy Hayden from Whitehouse, Texas for the title. Hayden finished with a time of 15:35.51 to Soto's 15:48.96. No one else broke 16:00 in the race.
