ALBUQUERQUE, NM —Lakeside track star Chris Lewis recently took part in the Great Southwest Classic Track Meet in Albuquerque, NM.
Lewis and his Louisiana team relay teammates ran the second fastest 800 Relay ever run at the Great Southwest Classic
Lewis, Calvary sprinters Josh Lamers and Brandon Wilson, and St. Louis (Lake Charles) 800 runner Blair Henderson combined to run in a winning time of 1:25.35 which was over three seconds better than the second place team.
Lewis also teamed with Lamers and Wilson on the 400 relay which finished second at 40.31. The first place team which was made up of a national team of great high school sprinters ran a 39.34 which would have won the Southern Conference meet.
Lewis wrapped up his weekend by placing fifth in the 100 meter Elite dash with a time of 10.61.
Lakeside Coach David Kidd assisted Calvary Coach Juan Plaza in leading the Louisiana team to a fifth place finish.
