UCAP selling pans of homemade dressing as fund-raiser
It is too late to buy a ticket for the annual United Christian Assistance Program Thanksgiving dinner, but there's still time to purchase a pan of dressing to take home.
According to UCAP volunteer Nell Perry they have sold all 600 tickets for the dinners, but it only takes a phone call to order a pan of homemade dressing to be prepared for pickup.
Anyone interested in ordering a cooked or uncooked pan of dressing to freeze until Thanksgiving can call UCAP to place an order. The pans of dressing are $20 each and can be ordered through Friday.
Dressing orders, along with the prepaid dinners, can be picked up between 5 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 10 at First Baptist Church, Minden.
"The Thanksgiving dinner is one of two fund-raisers we have every year and we need it," said Perry, who has been a volunteer for seven years.
Ticket sales brought in $4,200 and with the many donations, Perry said, "we will probably make at least $6,000 this year."
Perry said this fund-raiser is very important.
