Dannie Rae Waters

Dannie_Waters513Funeral services for Dannie Rae (Granny Dan) were held Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden. Officiating were the Rev. Bill Ichter and the Rev. Bill Crider. Interment followed at Minden Cemetery. The family received friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011.

Dannie Rae was born August 4, 1922 in Winnfield. She was a loving mother of three boys. Dannie worked as a secretary at Dunham Manufacturing for many years. She worked at First Baptist Church in Minden as Librarian and then as the pastor's secretary for Dr. Ronald Prince. She loved knitting, crocheting, cooking and working with her plants.

Dannie was preceded in death by her parents, Nelia Munn Bradford and Hiram Archiebald Bradford; her husband, Donell Waters and second husband, Ray Williams; her brother, Tallmadge Bradford; and sisters, Marie Jackson and Sue Norris.

She is survived by three sons, Don and Kay Waters of Fort Worth, Texas; Charles and Peggy Waters and John and Debbie Waters of Minden; grandchildren, Michelle Waters, Ashley Waters and Brian Waters all of Fort Worth; Jeremy and wife, Rhonda Waters; Tiffany and husband, Marty Kent all of Shreveport; Amency and husband, Chad Loftin of Prescott Valley, Arizona; Amber and husband, Brandon Moseley; Alanna and husband, Brad Williams all of Minden; seven great-grandchildren; Tyler Waters and Kaegan Kent of Shreveport; Rayla Loftin of Prescott Valley, Arizona; Macey, Mallory and Zack Moseley of Minden and Gage Williams of Minden.

Pallbearers were Brian Waters, Jeremy Waters, Marty Kent, Chad Loftin, Brandon Moseley and Brad Williams.

The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Bolger Minden Medical ICU and Leslie Lakes in Arcadia, for their special care for her.
