Funeral services for Mr. William Graham were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. James Woodard officiated. Interment followed at St. John Cemetery in Homer under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home.
William Graham entered his life on March 21, 1917 to the late Mr. Lee Graham and Mrs. Minnie Malone Graham.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. John Baptist Church in Homer. His final membership was at New Light Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James Woodard.
William married Mable Spencer (Graham) and to this union four children were born.
He worked for Springhill Paper Mill and Jim Dandy's Corporation for a number of years.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mable Spencer Graham; second wife, Reavy Rushing Graham; one son; all of his siblings, Johnny Graham, Jack Malone, Willie Clyde Graham, Le Roy Graham, Edward (Pete) Graham, Roosevelt Graham, Lula Williams and Bernice Martin.
He leaves to cherish his memories three children, Napoleon Graham (Bessie) of Baton Rouge, Wavie Graham Jackson of Jackson, Mississippi and Terry Graham (Jo Ann) of North Carolina; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Honoring William as pallbearers were Cotterrell Terrell, Henry Toliver, Almory Walker, Ivory Hawkins, Joe Cornelius and Clemon Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were Napolean Graham, Johnny Graham Jr., Gary Spencer, Randall Anderson, Edward Graham, Jr. and Terry Graham.Subscribe to Read!
