Late TD pass gives Minden 26-21 win
Players that come out for high school football for the first time as a senior usually don’t expect to become an impact player during their first couple of games.
Many become back-up players who get little playing time, however, there are always a few that break that rule and make a difference when they first step on the field. Derek Herrington is one of those impact players.
Herrington caught a game-high nine passes for 158 yards, including a 57 yard gem from Turner Francis, where he broke free and sprinted in for the Tide’s second score of the game. He also had a 36 yard kick return and showed that he was dangerous from any spot on the field.
