Donors needed

Blood drive is next week

LifeShare Blood Center is teaming with KSLA 12 and other sponsors for an important blood drive next week. The drive will take place Monday and Tuesday, August 29 and 30 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Minden Civic Center.

LifeShare’s area representative Mary Jo Henderson said the patriotic tee-shirt which will be given to each donor, is reflective of the patriotism shown by donation.

“These might be the most beautiful shirts we’ve ever given away,” Henderson said. “So not only will donors be giving that precious gift of life, they’ll be able to continue showing their patriotism every time they wear this shirt.”

Henderson said blood supply is in critical mode at this time.

“LifeShare has to supply 29 hospitals,” she said. “Summer is a difficult time for us. People don’t seem to want to get out in the heat.”
