Company relocation depends on awarding of DoD contract

Employment for at least 25 people may be available soon, pending the awarding of a contract by the Department of Defense (DoD).

Tiburon Associates Inc. is the DoD contractor working to bring a remanufacturing facility to be located at Camp Minden. This facility will support the remanufacturing and refurbishment of wheeled military vehicles.

In the event the contract is awarded and in efforts to beat a production deadline, there will be a job fair Wednesday, August 24 at the Minden Civic Center from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m..

"We are having the job fair because if the contract is awarded they must have the first vehicle repaired and out in 30 days," said Annette Blake, La. Workforce Commission representative.

The job fair will target applicants interested in hourly positions but all employment offers will be contingent upon award of contract.

"If they do get the contract they will continue to hire and hopefully have more staff by the middle of November and more after the first of the year," Blake said.

All openings are full-time positions, which will be assigned to work first, second and third shifts. All successful applicants will be required to pass a drug screening and criminal background.

Salaries will be commensurate with experience and will range from $12 to $24 per hour along with a competitive benefits package.
