Note: One of my most favorite people, Ms. Dot Colvin, passed away recently. This is a piece I wrote about her a few years ago.
In the early 1940's, long before Ms. Dorothy Jeanne Sallier (Dot) Colvin was our school librarian, she was a teenager growing up Port Sulphur, Louisiana. Located in the heart of Plaquemines Parish, Port Sulphur was a company town built in the 1930's for the employees of the Freeport Sulphur Company.
