Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Baker, a lifelong resident of this area, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 in Taylor, AR. She was a member of the Old Shongaloo Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker who will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook and never knew how many people she might have for a meal.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James L. "Bakie" Baker, on January 31, 2011; her parents, Madison Mascow and Cora Talley Haynes; brother, Prentice Haynes and sister, Lourine Watters.
She is survived by daughters, Gracie Aline Clark and husband, Bobby; Velda Kaye McLain and husband, Henry all of Emerson, AR; son, James Nelwyn Baker and wife, Lanell of Atlanta, TX; brothers, Franklin D. Haynes and wife, Corine, of Springhill, LA; Lawrence Haynes and wife, Armilles of Benton, LA; grandchildren, Donna Kay Holtzclaw and husband, John; Cher Lynn Johnson and husband, Randall; Michelle Smith and husband, Baine; James Allen Wyrick and wife, Karen and Tricia LeAnn Conney; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Jes, Brooke, Abbi and Jarret; step-grandchildren, John McLain and wife, Audra; Stacy Smith and husband, Gene; step-great-grandchildren, Slade, Hayden, Colton, Ashley and Dustin.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Holtzclaw, Hayden Holtzclaw, Jes Holtzclaw, Randall Johnson, James Allen Wyrick and Baine Smith.
