BASTROP — The Glenbrook Apaches improved to 17-4 and 9-1 in district with a 5-1 victory over Prairie View Academy on Saturday.
The Apache offense struggled a bit with the Spartan pitching, they only had three hits, but their pitching came through in the end.
"We struck out eight times and only got three hits," Glenbrook coach Jonathan Hardy said. "We've got to do a lot better job of putting the ball in play. We need to put more pressure on the defense and do a better job of running the bases. There was a couple of times where we ran ourselves out of bigger innings."
Glenbrook starter Jacob White allowed just two hits over five innings to get the win. He struck out six. Relievers Bailey Petit and Logan Clark each threw a scoreless inning with two strike outs.
"Our pitcher did a real good job," Hardy said. "They kept us in the game."
Spencer White and Connor Copeland both doubled and Jacob White singled.
The Apaches will travel to UCA on Tuesday and will host Franklin on Friday which will be Senior Night.
The Apaches will then close out their regular season with a Saturday game against River Oaks.
