AKA Fashionetta event is Tuesday

The Iota Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will present its annual Fashionetta Extravaganza on Tuesday, November 20 at 7 p.m. at the Minden Civic Center.

This social event is a fund-raising project for Iota Rho Omega to fund the sorority's many public service projects, including scholarships for high school graduates, entertainment for senior citizens and the Heritage Festival for area students throughout Webster, Claiborne and Caddo Parishes.

Headlining this affair is the group "TKR" a newly-formed group of students from Minden High School who began singing together this past summer with the Theater of Performing Arts in Shreveport. Members of the group include: Alexandria "Tootie" Knapp, Kaerington Wilson, and Rosie Oliver, all of Minden, hence, the name, TKR.

"This trio performs music that is unlike anything you have ever heard or ever will hear," said Fayrine Kennon, pageant affiliate. "TKR is very energetic and passionate about the music that they perform."

Sample music include: Luther Vandross' "A House Is Not A Home," Etta James' "At Last," and Whitney Houston's "I Want To Dance with Somebody."
