Ronald David Winston

ron9Ronald David Winston was born Oct. 18, 1950 to the late P.D. and Addie Key Winston. He was the second of six children born to this parentage. He grew up in a loving, Christian home. Being the son of a military man, he lived in various places including Aberdeen, Maryland, Warner Robins, Georgia, Frankfurt, Germany, and Key West, Florida.

Ronald was a 1970 graduate of Webster High School. He continued his educational pursuits at Knoxville College in Knoxville, Tennessee.

He was employed at General Motors until his retirement.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the St. Rest Baptist Church. Ronald later moved to Fairburn, Georgia, where he joined Divine Faith International Ministries and served as a Deacon and Leader of Security.

Ronald departed this earthly life Nov. 3, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Sylvia Winston of Fairburn, Georgia; sons, Lamon Walker (Janet) of Bossier City and Damien Watt of Shreveport; daughters, Stacey Cobb-Lincoln (Alfred) of Royse City, Texas, Lynetta Hollingsworth of Minden, Serenity Carroll, Sakarla Bryant and SaTephanie Bryant, all of Fairburn; seven grandchildren; brothers, Donnie Winston (Symone) of Seattle, Washington and John Edward Reeder (Betty) of Houston; sisters, Shirley Ann Williams (Stepfret, Sr.), Glinda Burnette (Donald Ray) of Baton Rouge, Yvette Lofton (Wyman) of Victoria, Texas and Roslind Brown (Johnny) of Alexandria, Virginia; aunts, Lorene Cobb (Richard) and Betty Cotton (Gerald), all of Minden; uncle, Harry L. Key (Ruby) of Minden; and a host of nieces, nephews, Cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 9 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Kennon's Mortuary with family hour from 7 until 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. at St. Rest Baptist Church with Rev. B. J. Martin, officiating. Interment will follow at the Sheppard Street Cemetery.
