Graveside services for Martha Life Jamieson, 89, are pending under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jamieson was born Jan. 2, 1923 at her parents’ home on Elm Street in Minden and passed away Wednesday, October 3.
A life-long resident of Minden, Mrs. Jamieson graduated Minden High School and Louisiana Tech University (Louisiana Polytechnic Institute). She worked in Shreveport for a time and then became the secretary for Webster Parish Superintendent of Schools James Pitcher. She left her position to marry Wm. Pearce Jamieson after he returned from World War II.
Martha Jamieson was a housewife, mother and grandmother, always ready at the end of a school day with a “tea party,” waiting to hear about her children’s day.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, William Bryan Life and Johnnye David Life and sisters, Lillian Life Willis and Mary Louise Life.
She is survived by her son, William Life Jamieson (Bill) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughter, Bonnie Jamieson Culverhouse and husband, Pat, of Minden; grandson, Joe Koskie and wife, Melanie of Ruston; granddaughters, Amy Koskie McKaskle and husband, Kyle of Minden and Marie Koskie Burns and husband, Mark of West Monroe; and great-grandchildren, Simone and Sophia Koskie, Charlie McKaskle and special friend Helen Sant.
The family wishes to thank Mary and Carroll Drake and Sandra Strickland for their care of Mrs. Jamieson and her home for many, many years, as well as caretakers Kay Montgomery, Janice Allen and Agape’ Hospice.
