Glenbrook basketball head coach Chris Kourvelas is leaving the school to take the same position at Loyola College Prep in Shreveport.
Kourvelas coached at Glenbrook for three seasons and took the Apaches to the MAIS Class A State Championship Game this past year.
"It is with a heavy heart and mixed feelings that I will be saying good-bye to the wonderful school and people of Glenbrook," Kourvelas said. "I have the upmost respect and love for everyone there. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to coach, the kids, parents, administration and board have been great and again, I was blessed to have been able to be a part of it."
Kourvelas went 69-24 at Glenbrook including a 21-3 district record.
" I feel its time to move on. This opportunity was presented to me and it is a sort of 'promotion' for various reasons," he said. "I have heard great things about Loyola both on the academic side and athletic side and like I said, it is a step up for me."
