RINGGOLD — The Lakeside Lady Warriors overcame rain and cool conditions in winning the Ringgold Redskin Relays.
The Warrior boys tooksecond place, while fielding only a partial team, as only two field events (javelin and discus) were held.
In the ladies field events, Shanae Collins won the long jump with a leap of 16'2". Jessica Bridges took second in the javelin with 98'6" toss.
On the track Alissa Landers was triple winner. Landers won the 1600 (6:01) and the 3200 (12:55.0) and ran a leg on the winning 1600 Relay (4:46).
Heather Schneck won the 800 (2:42) and was second in the 400 (71.00). Schenck also ran a leg on the 1600 Relay. Shanae Collins was second in the 100 (12.94) and ran on the winning 400 Relay (55.2) and the 1600 Relay.
Deedee Quarles took second in the 100 meter Hurdles (19.4) and ran on the 400 relay. Jessica Bridges ran on the 400 and 1600 Relays. Tamia Stanley ran on the winning 400 Relay.
The boys field event winners were; Jecory Lathan in the discus at 135'3" and T.J. Carpenter in the javelin at 149'5".
Enrique Soto won the 1600 at 4:31.20. Zach Levesque took the 800 at 2:14. Levesque was also 1600 meter runner up at 4:48. James Taylor won the 3200 at 10:55. Taylor was second in the 800 (2:18). Eric Greene running a personal best of 11:13 was 2nd in the 3200.
The 800 Relay of Armad Bishop, Darryl Moore, Maurice Moore, and Caleb McKinsey placed third with 1:38.16. Soto, Moore, Moore, and Levesque made up the winning 1600 Relay at 3:46.
At the Texas Relays sprinter Chris Lewis won his preliminary 100 meter race with a personal best fully automatic time of 10.58. On Saturday running before 34,000 spectators Lewis won the bronze medal with a third place finish at 10.63.
The next action for the Lakeside teams will be at the Northwood Invitational on Thursday, April 4.
Distance runners Eric Greene, James Taylor, Zach Levesque, and Enrique Soto will compete at the Mobile Meet of Champions in Mobile, Alabama on Friday, April 6th and Saturday April 7th.
