Doyline, North Webster to host first round games

The Doyline Panthers and North Webster Knights will begin their LHSAA playoff runs with home games tonight.

The Panthers will host Summerfield, while the Knights welcome in the St. Helena Hawks.

"We've played Summerfield a couple of times already this year," Doyline head coach Michael Normand said. "They're a real good shooting team, but we've been playing real good ball this month. So it should be a real good contest."

The Panthers have won seven of their last eight, including six in a row.

The Panthers, #16 seed in Class B, and the Rebels, #17 seed, played three times this year. The Panthers won the first two meetings, and the Rebels took the latest match-up.

Tip-off is at 6:30 p.m.

The North Webster Knights (19-9) will also open at home, as they host the St. Helena Central Hawks.

North Webster enters the playoffs as Class 2A's #13 seed, while the Hawks come in at #20.
