Ronald Bryant Robinson

Ronald_Robinson529Funeral services for Ronald Bryant "Ronnie" Robinson will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Minden. The Reverend John Cannon will be officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.

Ronald was born Jan. 22, 1932 in the Arizona Community in Claiborne Parish to Bryant Evan Robinson and Lillian Edwards Robinson, Ronald passed away peacefully with his family at his side in Minden Medical Center on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryant Evan Robinson and Lillian Edwards Robinson; his in-laws, Edward Dewitt Brown, Sr. and Celeste Sibley Brown and infant son Thomas Benjamin Robinson.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Cora Lou; sisters, Bettye Jo and husband, Wayne Perry and Elizabeth Ann and husband, J.C. Rogers; sons, Jeff and fiancée, Katie and Jon and wife, Saundra; daughter, Courtney and husband, Cody Rogers; and seven wonderful grandchildren, Cole, Meagan, Isabel, Keith, Schuyler, Kaitlyn and Claire.

Ronald and Cora Lou made their home in Minden, where they were active members of the community and of First United Methodist Church.

Ronald graduated from Homer High School and attended Louisiana Tech University, where he graduated with a degree in Accounting. While at Tech, he was a member of Kappa Sigma Social Fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation he served as Captain in the U.S. Air Force. He then entered the business world as one of the youngest Pontiac dealers in the country and was appointed to the Governor's Board of Motor Vehicles. Ronald was a long-time Minden businessman and was actively involved in numerous civic and charitable activities. He served on the First United Methodist Church board, was president of the Glenbrook Booster Club and was active for many years in the Minden St. Jude Auction, which was his passion.

We appreciate all the prayers, visits, phone-calls and support from friends and family. These have been a tremendous source of strength and comfort.

Pallbearers will be Schuyler Marvin, Webb Stewart, David Brown, Mark Stanfield, Whit Perry, Brit Bolling, Gary Brown, Kevin McCann and Randy McMichael.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either First United Methodist Church of Minden or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
