RUSTON — Cool temperatures and a fast course equalled many personal-best times for the Lakeside cross country team at the Ruston Bearcat Invitational.
The Warriors finished third in the meet, right behind the Parkway and Ruston teams. The Lady Warriors had two runners finish in the Top 10 of the ladies' race.
Zach Levesque once again paced the boys' team, as he ran a personal-best time of 16:20 to finish third behind Ruston's Chase Millian (16:14) and Parkway's Hayden Kingfisher (16:17).
James taylor finished 11th at 17:13 even though he was spiked and required eight stitches after the race.
Eric Green placed 15th with a personal-best time of 17:46 and Austin McGinty placed 19th with a season-best time of 17:52.
Travis Walker ran a personal-best of 18:25 to finish 33rd and Nic Petty ran a personal-best time of 19:25. Brian Bickford finished at 19:52 and Austin Pike ran a 20:15, which was a personal-best.
Anna Davidson and Alyssa Landers led the way for the Lady Warriors.
Davidson finished seventh with a time of 20:39 over the three-mile course. Landers took eighth with a personal-best time of 20:31.
The next action for the Lakeside cross country teams will be on Saturday, November 5 at the Minden Recreation Complex. Teams from Calvary Baptist, Ruston and Loyola College Prep will all take place in the meet.
