The Glenbrook Lady Apaches split a pair of softball district games this week.
Earlier in the week they lost, 5-2 to UCA, and Thursday they won a come from behind 9-8 game over Claiborne Academy.
In the UCA game, Sunni Wilson, Macie Branch and Carsin Spurlock all singled.
Against C.A., the Lady Apaches trailed 8-3 going into the bottom of the six before six runs to take the walk-off win.
"It was a huge win for us," Lady Apache head coach Jonathan Hardy said. "I was really proud of the girls, they stayed in the game and kept fighting. Then we got our timing down and got some key hits in that last inning."
Shelby Nicholas and Melody Hanson laid down a pair of bunts to move runners around keep the inning alive, and Sunni Wilson knocked in Megan Sims with the winning run.
"This win moved us to 4-4 in district and keeps us with a legitimate shot at the playoffs if we win out," Hardy said. "We have three district games left next week, so they will all be big games for us."
Wilson finished three-for-four with two singles and a triple, and Peyton Ruple had a pair of singles. Nicholas had two hits and scored two runs, and Katie Kidd doubled. Hanson, Kristen Sherrell and Macie Branch all singled. Jessica Mangrum picked up the win on the mound.
