SIBLEY — The Lakeside Warriors have been out on the practice fields this week getting ready for the 2011 season.
The team is enjoying an upswing in their numbers, as they had more than 40 players out at practice this week.
"Our numbers have expanded a little bit since last year," Warrior head coach Terrence Quarles said. "We're up in the mid 40's right now, with about 26 returnees from last year. We just want to go out and keep everybody healthy and keep their attitudes, which have been very good thus far, up. So everything's really going good right now."
As many teams play scrimmages tonight, the Warriors will wait until next week before getting any action against another team.
"We're not going to scrimmage this week because we had some kids come in late," Quarles said. "So we decided it would be best to focus on fundamentals this week and get ready for the jamboree next week."
The Warriors will host North Webster and Rayville High Schools in the jamboree that will kick-off at 6:30 p.m.
