Sparks - Morton engaged to marry

Sparks_Morton714Michael and Barbara Sparks of Sibley, and Rhonda Henson of Minden, and Michael Morton of Longview, Texas and Terri Morton of Shreveport, are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their children Brittany Nicole Sparks and Michael "Patrick" Morton, both of Shreveport.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Sam and Nell Sparks of Ringold, Mary Henson and the late Raymond Henson of Minden.

Brittany graduated from Doyline High School where she was the valedictorian of the class of 2005. She went on to graduate from Bossier Parish Community College in July of 2011 and was inducted into the PTK Honor Society. Brittany will graduate from LSUS in July of 2012 and is employed with Gamble Guest Care as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Dewey "Sug" and June Arnold and Joe and Maggie Mortin, all of Carthage, Texas.

Patrick is a 2004 graduate of Carthage High School and a 2009 graduate of LSU where he received his Bachelor's of Science in Marketing. Patrick is employed by Flow Zone, LLC where he is an outside salesman.

The couple will marry at 6 p.m., September 17, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Minden. Following the wedding ceremony, the couple will honeymoon on St. Thomas Virgin Islands and will reside in Blanchard.
